The planted Eden, complete with Monkeys, at the San Diego Zoo
The new Monkey Trails and Forest Tales exhibit at the San Diego Zoo is part of their ongoing
commitment to education and conservation. The lush plantings, centered on a massive tropical
Fig tree, simulate a tropical hardwood forest where animals of Asia and Africa can feel at home.
Monkey Trails multi-species habitat brings together forest primates such as mandrills, black
mangabeys, and guenons with other animals including birds, Borneon bearded and Visayan warty
pigs, pygmy hippopotamus and tiny duikers.
The landscape of the Zoo not only helps to simulate the landscapes of far off lands but serves
as a vital resource for animal browse and plant conservation.
The San Diego Zoo is open daily including all major holidays.
