Luther Burbank, the man who changed the world through plants
The Luther Burbank Home and Gardens is preserved as a city park and museum in Santa Rosa, CA. Burbank rarely left his beloved garden after he settled in the city, choosing instead to devote his life to improving the lives of his fellow men through horticulture. Many of his discoveries are still planted in gardens today, from the Santa Rosa Plum to the Russet Potato.
The garden is open to the public daily from 8am to
dusk. A Garden Audio Tour showcasing some of Burbank's most popular
creations is available Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm April to October. The
Burbank Home and Carriage House Museum are also open Tuesday through Sunday.
There is a nominal fee for both.
