A world apart: A trip to Santa Catalina Island
Santa Catalina Island off the coast from Los Angeles is a world part that offers many things to many people. Hiking, Jeep Eco Adventures, surfing, boating and diving just to name a few of the activities. The wild lands of the island are stewarded by the Catalina Island Conservancy, a non profit organization dedicated to keeping Catalina wild.
The Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Garden is a perfect starting point in your exploration of the Island. Standing just outside the city of Avalon, it hosts a wide assortment of exotic cacti and succulents along with native island trees and shrubs.
The Catalina Island Conservancy hosts Volunteer Vacations. A unique and fun experience, Volunteer Vacations connects volunteers with efforts to preserve and protect native plants and animals while meeting others, enjoying gourmet meals and camping under the stars in the private volunteer camp with incredible views of land and sea.
