Connecting ancient Hawaiian culture to a modern garden: Limahuli Garden.
The National Tropical Botanical Garden created the Limahuli Garden and Preserve in Ha'ena, Island of Kauai, Hawaii. Starting with the vision of Mrs. Juliet Rice Wichman, the garden not only preserves ancient Hawaiian culture and archeological sites but also stands as a living modern example of successful native plant preservation and habitat restoration. We showcased the ethno-botanical collections of the garden which help the visitor understand the connection between nature and Hawaiian culture. The garden is open for self guided and guided tours Tuesday through Saturday.
