Bok Sanctuary / Ceanothus

A Garden Sanctuary with an elegant Singing Tower: Historic Bok Sanctuary; An American Original in Blue: Ceanothus with David Fross; Dave's Favs: Flowering Almond, Narcissus

A Garden Sanctuary with an elegant Singing Tower:
Historic Bok Sanctuary

Edward Bok had a vision to create a world-class garden to provide sanctuary from the busy daily world. Even in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s visitors flocked to the new garden and the shining carillon tower.  Today the gardens of the Historic Bok Sanctuary and Pinewood Estate are more beautiful than ever and the tower "sings" each day in live concerts performed by the carillonuers perched high in its 280 foot tall Art Deco height.
Spend the whole day walking the shaded paths of the garden or hiking trials of the Pinewood Preserve, observe migrating birds or just watch the white swans glide across dark waters.
The grounds include a beautiful visitor center with gift and plant shop, Carillon Cafe and museum plus bird observation areas and handicapped access.

Special thanks to the carilloneurs of Historic Bok Sanctuary for the rare opportunity to see them at work; the Bok Tower is not open to the public.
