High Flying Adventure above the Flower Fields

Dave flew in an antique 1927 Travel Air Biplane originally used to deliver mail.  Flights in this plane, including sunset flights, air combat adventures, and warbird flights are available daily by
Biplane, Air Combat and Warbird Adventures, 1-800-SKY-LOOP or www.barnstorming.com.

The Flower Fields are open each year during bloom time in spring from March to May, 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm.
Not only will you experience the color spectacle of millions of Ranunculus in bloom but also walk through gardens of roses, a display of poinsettias or take a ride on antique tractors.  There are special places for fun activities with the kids or to enjoy a picnic lunch.
'Giant Tecolote' Ranunculus including Dave's favorite, 'Tecolote Cafe Blend' are available in fall and spring as bulbs from fine mail order bulb catalogs. Fresh cut bouquets and live plants are available in season at the Armstrong Garden Center adjoining The Flower Fields.

Barn Owl.
Owls are important part of the suburban ecosystem, dining on animals pests like rodents.
Loss of suitable nesting spaces and animal poisons are major causes for the decline of this fine and useful bird.  Please use non-toxic traps outdoors to avoid injuring owls who might accidentally prey on poisoned rodents.

Sophisticated recycled materials for your garden, Building REsources.

Dave and Building REsources director Matthew Levasque explored new and innovative ways of using recycled glass, ceramic, granite, marble, and other materials in ways to compliment any garden. Dave especially liked the tumbled clay shards that make an attractive mulch to compliment the perennials in his garden.
