Kauai Rainforest/ Fragrant Lilacs
Dave zips through the rainforest as an eco-tourist on the Garden Isle of Kauai then enjoys fragrant Lilacs for every garden from Descanso Gardens.
Rainforest Adventure Eco-tourism on Kauai: Princeville Ranch Adventures.
Dave and guide, Kanoe Arinaga, explored the canyons and forests of Princeville Ranch, Kauai. Princeville Ranch Adventures offers several different ways to experience the wild lush forest on 2,500 acres of private ranch lands on Kauai’s North Shore. Dave experienced the exciting Zip and Dip tour, where zip lines and a suspension bridge through the forest lead you to a gushing waterfall and swimming hole for a picnic lunch. Even the trip to the canyon is fun, riding across unspoiled pastures full of cattle and wild birds!

Fragrant Lilacs for every Garden at Descanso Gardens.
Brian Sullivan and Dave enjoyed the unique collection of fragrant lilacs at Descanso Gardens, near Los Angeles.
Early in the garden’s history these magnificent shrubs were grown for the cut flower market and new cultivars were created at Descanso that bloom prolifically in warm winter climates like California, Arizona, Texas and Florida. These Low-Chill types are still available today from various sources including Monrovia Growers, www.monrovia.com, at retail garden centers.
Lilacs seen today include:
Syringa ’Lavender Lady’, S. ‘Monge’, S. ‘Charles the 10th’, S. ‘Angel White’, S. ‘Blue Skies’, S. ‘Miss Kim’, Syringa x laciniata
The Lilac Garden is just one of the incredible garden attractions at Descanso, including their vast Rose Garden and camellia collections.
