The Mile High City's finest garden, Denver Botanic Garden; Sowing seeds to a beautiful organic garden complete with Fragrant Sweet Peas: Renee Shepherd; Dave's Favs; Cotinus, Lobelia; Grey Owl

The Mile High City's Finest Garden, Denver Botanic Garden.

Spread over 23 acres in the heart of the city, the Denver Botanic Garden presents many different garden settings, from a walled English Garden, to the Rose Garden to several displays of native and drought adapted plants. Panayoti Keladis took us through the Prairie Garden, Western Borders and Water Wise Garden to illustrate the rich variety of plants and strong display of color and texture available. These plants are perfectly adapted to the hot, dry, and windy climate of Colorado, the plains and intermountain West.
Denver Botanic Garden also helps select and showcase waterwise plants for Plant Select for the Rocky Mountain and Plains states. Plant Select is a program designed to seek out and distribute plants for gardens from the high plains to the intermountain West.

Sowing seeds to a beautiful organic garden complete with Fragrant Sweet Peas; Renee Shepherd.

Renee Shepherd is a renowned plants woman and chef who started Renee's Garden Seeds to provide home gardeners with a rich palette of flowers and edibles that enhance the beauty of your garden and your table. She carefully tests each new variety in her own garden outside Santa Cruz, CA and in other test gardens across the country.
One of her passions are Sweet Peas, which she grows and mixes in special blends to create enticing bouquets of both color and fragrance. She selects varieties both new and antique that have long bloom times and improved heat resistance.  Purchase fine Renee's Garden Seeds at your local independent garden center or shop online.
