Travel to Washington for a Harvest of Organic Apples;Jerzy Boyz Farm.
Wynne Weinreb has been carefully growing, caring for, and hand harvesting delicious organic apples on her farm in Eastern Washington. Each apple and pear variety is picked at the peak of flavor and ripeness, carefully packed and shipped to mail-order customers and specialty markets such as Whole Foods.
But the mission of Jerzy Boyz goes beyond providing top quality handpicked organic fruit, to a commitment to sustainable practices that improve the land and surrounding environment while upholding the legacy of small family farms providing fresh produce to local and national markets. Her techniques for improving the soil and crop yield, from nitrogen fixing cover crops, to careful training and tree pruning, to integrated pest management and careful water use can be applied at home to backyard fruit trees.
You can order choice apple and pear gift boxes in season and see why
"One bite is all it takes," via mail order by visiting the Jerzy Boyz website.

An elegant conservatory as haven for plants and art, Garfield Conservatory, Chicago.
The massive glass conservatory was the creation of Chicago landscape designer Jens Jensen in the early 20th Century. The complex landscape garden that he created within is still one of the largest gardens under cover in the world and was the top attraction in the city for decades. Under the care of skilled horticulturists, the Garfield Park Conservatory is a center for renewal with the West Side Chicago neighborhood that surrounds it.
During our visit, the Conservatory was host to a group of playful and fantastic mosaic covered sculptures by Nikki de Saint Phalle.
